Project Ideas: Terra Cotta Pots

With August halfway over, summer is quickly coming to an end.  Don’t think that just because summer is ending that you need to put away all of your garden supplies.  Terra cotta pots– a garden staple–can be used for numerous other craft projects for your yard and home.

A simple search on Pinterest will get your creative juices flowing.  While you’re there, be sure to follow our boards, including one devoted to Terra Cotta Fun.

I was surprised by just how many things you could do with terra cotta pots.  Two in particular caught my eye.  The first I will be making ASAP!  It is a DIY cupcake stand using terra cotta pots and saucers.

The second will put you right in the winter holiday season with adorable snowmen made from terra cotta pots.

A friend sent me a link to the site CraftsByAmanda.com, which is full of craft ideas that are sure to inspire you.  One of my favorites on her site are the Strawberry Terra Cotta Pots, which shows you how to paint terra cotta pots to look like strawberries.  You could even take this idea further and paint pots to look like just about any fruit, including watermelon, blackberries, and kiwi.

The possibilities for painting and designing your own terra cotta pots are endless!  What will you create with them?

I know! They had so many other Christmas and winter ideas that I found. I pinned them on our Terra Cotta Fun board. Those snowmen have me so excited for Christmas that I may need to start crafting for it in August!!
